The Tennessee Firearms Association, a pro-gun organization in Tennessee, has upset some people recently with there plans to give away an AR-15. The Tennessee Firearms Association plans to give away a Bushmaster AR-15 to the winner of a drawing that will be held on Monday. Many gun-control advocates see the Tennessee Firearms Association's timing as insensitive because of how recently a man used the exact same kind of firearm to kill more than twenty people in Connecticut. The winner of the drawing still must pass a background check before receiving the rifle.

The city counsel of Wichita, Kansas will soon vote on a body armor regulation that could have a huge impact on security guard companies that operate in Wichita and the safety of private security guards that work there. The city counsel wants to restrict the use of body armor by private security guards to only vests that are worn under clothing. The city counsel doesn't want security guards to wear external vests because that is what police officers wear. They don't want security guards to mimic local police officers. The new regulation would be very onerous to private security guards and security guard companies. The proposed rule would also cause more private security guards to be without body armor at all. The vests that the city counsel wants private security guards to wear are much more expensive than the external ones. Also, the concealed vests are generally tailored to a certain person. A tailored vest can not be used by several guards that work different shifts. The proposed regulation would be very harmful to private security guards that work in Wichita. Hopefully, the city counsel will reconsider this proposal.
