August, 2010

August 31, 2010: August has been a great month for On Guard Security, our clients, our private security guards, and all the other employees at OGSI. In addition to all of our security guard operations running smoothly and without any major incident, we continued to expand our business and provide our security solutions to several new clients.

August 30, 2010: A man in Alaska was finally captured Friday evening after a twelve-hour manhunt. The man was wanted for several charges including punching a security guard in the face.

Fishing was below average in Nashville today (at least it was for me on the Stones River). Despite ideal conditions I couldn't catch any decent fish.

August 29, 2010: Construction on a new mosque in Rutherford County, Tennessee has had several problems lately. A suspicious fire and gunshots have been reported.

A very special thanks to Tammy and Lindsay!

August 26, 2010: Police in Washington are reporting that the security officer that was killed on Tuesday in Spokane was the aggressor in the incident. According to reports the security guard pulled out a BB gun that looked like a semi-automatic pistol after exchanging words with the group of people that he had the confrontation with.

August 25, 2010: A church in Franklin, Tennessee has been victimized twice in less than one week by burglary. Police in Franklin have released a sketch of a man that is a person of interest.

A man that was found shot to death in an alley in Washington is believed to be a private security guard. Apparently, the security guard had had an argument with a group of people earlier in the day. Police have a suspect in custody.

August 24, 2010: Late last week detectives in California were able to get arrest warrants for three men that have been identified as having involvement in the July shooting death of a security guard. The armed guard was on post at a restaurant when he was murdered.

Thank you, Brittany C.

August 22, 2010: It is a hot Summer day in Nashville.

August 21, 2010: A very special thanks to "Chi Chi"!!!!!!

A security guard was found dead at a strip-mall in Miami.

The Great American Gun & Knife Show is in Nashville, Tennessee this weekend.

August 20, 2010: The first part our fourth handgun carry permit class went very well. We are continuing to see an increase in demand for our personal protection classes as well as our equipment and our security guard business.

August 15, 2010: Will the heat ever end?

A private security guard that worked at a strip club in Miami shot and killed a man outside of the strip club early Saturday morning. After being asked to leave a man from the strip club got a gun from his car and began firing shots. According to reports the security guard told the man to drop his firearm several times before the guard fired a shot that killed the man.

August 10, 2010: Two private security guards in New York were arrested for assualt and weapons charges. The charges come from the security guards using a baton, mace, and a shot fired to help control a crowd of unruly patrons.

August 9, 2010: Happy Birthday, Lindsay!!!!

Thanks to Blake for all your help last week and for being a great security guard.

We had a break from the extremely hot weather over the weekend in Nashville. I was relieved and happy to see some cooler weather.

August 5, 2010: Thank you to Jermaine. Your help made it possible to provide security guard solutions to all of our clients and partners without compromising quality by using over worked security guards.

August 4, 2010: A professor at John Hopkins University has been arrested and charged with assualting a security guard.

Armed IRS agents raided the home of Young Buck, a rapper from Nashville, yesterday. The armed agents raided his Sumner County home to repossess assets. Apparently, the raid was due to a $300,000 unpaid tax bill.

A security guard was attacked by two pitt bulls in New England yesterday. The attack occurred at a business park where the security guard was on duty. Police managed to shoot the two dogs before anyone else was harmed by them.

Nashville police and the FBI are working to identify a man that robbed a Region's Bank in Bellevue on Monday.

Thanks to "Jim" for all the help in east Tennessee.

August 3, 2010: Congratulations to Robert M.!!!

August 1, 2010: July was a very good month for On Guard Security, Inc. In many ways On Guard Security grew last month. Top quality contract security guard solutions is undoubtedly our core business, but our security guard equipment and security guard training classes are doing even better than expected.

It is turning into a very hot day in Nashville, Tennessee. I suppose it is to be expected in August.

The fishing was good this morning in the Stones River and Percy Priest Lake. We caught big fish in both this morning.

Earlier this week in Nashville a man turned himself in to police who wanted him for questioning about his stepfather's murder. The man admitted to killing his stepfather earlier this week, but the man claims that it was in defense of his mother that was being beaten by the stepfather.
