August 26, 2014: Late last week on a cruise ship in New York a man began firing off a fire extinguisher during while a band was performing. Private security guards on the boat attempted to capture the drunk man. The man jumped off the cruise ship to avoid apprehension by the security guards. Police caught the man later. According to authorities, the man is unlikely to face any charges.
An armed guard in Colorado will not face charges for a shooting that occurred earlier this month. According to reports, the private security guard shot and killed a man at an apartment complex where he was on duty on August 2nd. The man reportedly went into an apartment during a confrontation with the armed guard and returned with an airsoft pistol. The security guard shot and killed the man. Authorities have ruled that the shooting was in self-defense.

August 13, 2014: On Guard Security is currently seeking two unarmed guards and two armed guards for part-time work in Nashville. All applicants must already have a valid Tennessee security guard license. All applicants must have experience in law enforcement, corrections, the military, or at another private security guard company. Earlier this week in Clarksville a man allegedly threw a baby in a car seat at the child's mother. According to reports,the baby was not hurt. Police arrested the suspect and charged him with domestic assault, child abuse, and neglect.
Earlier this week in Seattle a private security guard tackled a man that was caught pooping in a public walkway. Police responded after the security guard tackled the suspect. The private security guard told police he tackled the man after the man became confrontational with him. The man then began walking away from the private security guard and the guard tackled him. The man claims that the private security guard attacked him for no reason.

August 11, 2014: According to reports, two private security guards at a casino in New Jersey beat a man until he was unconscious and bloody. The incident was caught on the casino's security cameras. The victim is the eighth person to claim that the security guards at the casino beat them without provocation.

August 6, 2014: Yesterday in Rhode Island a man assaulted a private security guard on a movie set. According to police, the suspect arrived at the movie set at around noon and began causing a scene. Police officers eventually arrested the suspect, but only after he threw punches and a chair at the security guard that was on the set.
Four teenagers were shot overnight in Chattanooga. A 19-year-old man was shot at around 11:30 pm. Police said he was shot by an unknown gunman that was on foot. The victim told police officers that he did not want to prosecute and would not show up in court. At around 1:15 am three more teenagers were shot in a drive by shooting while sitting on a porch. A 16-year-old was hit in the stomach and was taken to the hospital. The two others were grazed by bullets. Both refused medical treatment. The 16-year-old is in critical condition.
It's a hot August day here in Nashville.
A private security guard in Chicago that worked at a pawn shop and was on the shop's reality TV show died yesterday. The security guard appears to have died of natural causes. According to reports, the security guard who was 48 was found unresponsive in his home.
Police in Connecticut are looking for a man in a wheelchair that stole a $27,000 Rolex watch out of a jewelry store. As the man tried to escape the jewelry store he pepper sprayed a private security guard and another store employee. The security guard and the employee were both taken to the hospital and were later released.
Earlier this week in North Carolina a security guard at a gas station exchanged gunfire with armed robbers. According to reports, armed robbers stormed the gas station armed with handguns and demanded money. As the suspects were leaving one of them shot at the gas station's security guard. The private security guard shot back at the robbers. Neither the private security guard or the robbers were injured in the incident.

August 4, 2014: Over the weekend in Springfield, Tennessee a woman was shot at while trying to make a deposit at her bank. According to reports, an unknown gunman opened fire on the woman at around 9:30 pm Saturday. The woman's vehicle was hit twice. The woman was not injured. Police in Springfield are investigating.

Police in Springfield, Tennessee are looking for a man that is robbing people that stop to help him with his car. According to authorities, a white male in his late 20's or early 30's asked a woman to jump-start his vehicle last night. The man stole the woman's purse and other belongings while she was helping him. According to police, the man attempted to do the same thing to at least two other people.

A man in South Carolina pulled a gun on a private security guard at a Target earlier this week. The security guard watched the man put several items in his pockets and shopping cart. The private security guard confronted the shoplifter as he was exiting the store. The suspect then pulled out a chrome pistol and pointed it at the security guard. The suspect then ran out of the Target with the stolen merchandise and fled in a vehicle. Police are asking the public's help in identifying the suspect.
