February 28, 2010: The Knox County prosecutor that was arrested for DUI early Saturday morning has been released from Anderson County jail. His bond was $5,000. 


February 27, 2010: Ten 'johns' were arrested during a prostitution sting in Nashville Friday.


February 25, 2010: A senator from Alabama is pushing for private security guards in schools to be armed. The senator thinks that armed guards are much more effective.


February 24, 2010: Police in Nashville have arrested two women for the robbery of the Walgreens on Clarksville Pike last night.

The school board for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools decided yesterday to add thirty minutes to each school day for a 28-day period this year. The extended time with help to make up for all the time that was missed during this snowy winter.

A private security guard in Memphis, Tennessee is with rape for an incident that took place on his post at a Kroger. The guard coerced an alleged shoplifter into sexual favors in exchange for not calling the police.

Kentucky State Police arrested a woman today that allegedly forged time cards to receive pay from Manpower Inc. of Knoxville, Tennessee after she had already been terminated.


February 23, 2010: The Metro Nashville Police Department is seeking information to find the man that robbed a CVS in west Nashville. The robber demanded pain medication from the pharmacist.


February 22, 2010: Early this morning a security guard was shot and killed in Baltimore. The police report that the security guard was not the intended target. The guard was unarmed at his post at Bank of America.


February 20, 2010: A student in Williamson County was arrested Friday morning. Police responded to a tip that the student had a gun. While searching the student police found an unloaded revolver.


February 19, 2010: The superintendent of Crockett County, Tennessee schools was arrested last night in Nashville. The superintendent was caught in an ongoing prostitution sting in Nashville.

A security guard at an elementary school in New Jersey has pleaded guilty to a charge of kissing and fondling a 13-year-old girl.

It is a beautiful day for February. I can't wait for Spring.


February 18, 2010: Yesterday it was announced that Nashville's crime rate dropped to the lowest level in 31 years. The crime rate is the number of crimes per person. The number of major crimes also dropped for the sixth year in a row. Major crimes in Nashville dropped by 11 percent.

A new study in Tennessee ranks Williamson County as the healthiest county in the state.

A man that was convicted of child molestation has been charged with child molestation again in Campbell County, Tennessee.


February 17, 2010: A security guard in Georgia is accused of stealing $5000 from his employer. The owner of the business claims to have video of the security guard taking the money.

Davidson County, Tennessee (Nashville) has received a federal grant to upgrade the technology that it uses to keep track of sex offenders.

Prescription drug fraud has led to six people being indicted in Murfreesboro, TN.

In Chattanooga, Tennessee a man was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison. The man was charged with child pornography and methamphetamine charges.

An argument in Franklin, Tennessee turned violent last week. One of the men in the argument stabbed the other man outside of a Williamson County restuarant. The assailant is scheduled to be in court tomorrow.


February 16, 2010: Again it is snowing. 

A security guard in New York was stabbed to death early Sunday morning. The guards 17-year-old stepson has been arrested in connection with the security guards murder.

A very interesting article came out regarding the beating in Seattle in which the security guards didn't help the victim. The article basically gives a security officers point of view. The article asks why a minimum wage security guard would risk losing his job to help the young lady. This article makes several good points. Guards don't typically get a large severance package if they lose their jobs because they did more than just observe and report.


February 14, 2010: Happy Valentine's Day!


February 13, 2010: Gun shots were reported outside of a high school in Kentucky last night. The high school, located in Louisville, was having a major after-school activity at the time the shots were reported. There is not much news out about this story yet. At least one person was shot. 

Three people were arrested and two private security guards were injured in an incident earlier this morning in Florida. One of the guards was allegedly attacked when he asked a patron to leave the bar.


February 12, 2010: A sheriff in eastern Kentucky was sent to the emergency room as a result of a meth lab bust. The sheriff opened a bottle that contained iodine crystals during the bust. Iodine can cause very serious long-term harm to your body.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in Kentucky for sexually abusing a 3-year-old that he was babysitting. The 16-year-old is charged with sodomy among other charges.

A security guard is now in jail for attacking his girlfriend's ex-husband with a baton. The guard is charged with aggravated assualt with a deadly weapon.


February 11, 2010: The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department worked with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration to make the largest single marijuana seizure ever in Nashville. Over 4 thousand pounds of marijuana was seized in the drug bust. Several hundred thousand dollars was seized. Nine people are now in custody. The bust happened in the Antioch area. The house that held all of the marijuana was within one mile of a school.

A former high school teacher from Paris, Kentucky (near the Lexington area) was sentenced to seven years in prison for possessing child pornography. The former teacher plead guilty to three counts relating to child pornography.

On a personal note, I would like to thank Sean D. and Brandon B. for helping me so much this afternoon.

I learned a lot this past weekend. Information security is as important as physical safety. Too many times I have stressed my own personal safety and lost sight of the security of my information.


February 10, 2010: Thankfully, there has been an overwhelming amount of interest in our security guard services lately. However, this amount of interest requires a lot of time. Updating the website is difficult to do.

There have been robberies in New York that are quite different from normal robberies. These robberies involve an individual that dresses as a security guard. This robber has pulled off some very bold robberies lately.

A girl was brutally attacked by a group of other teenagers in the Seattle area. As the girl was attacked security guards watched. The guards were unable to intervene, and they did not intervene. All the unarmed guards could do is call 9-1-1. They did call 9-1-1. No one helped the girl, though. It seems foolish and wasteful to have guards on duty that can not provide any real help during this kind of incident.


February 9, 2010: I am so sick of this kind of weather. I have lived in Nashville my entire life and I don't remember ever having this much snow.

February 6, 2010: A police chief resigned his positon late last week. The police chief pleaded guilty to harrasment with physical contact last Thursday. Later that same day the man resigned his position as Hopkins County Chief of Police.

The weather was much colder in Nashville today.


February 5, 2010: Lexington Police have a confession to the murder of Carlos Castillo-Godoy. The confession came from a man that they had in custody as a suspect in the shooting. A lot of evidence points to the shooting being drug-related.

It is too early to be 100 percent certain. Some forms and paperwork still need to be finalized, but yesterday we finished working out all the details in what will be a profitable and mutually-beneficial partnership that will help OGSI and our prospective partner expand our security knowledge, experience, and variety of security solutions. Once the formalities are out of the way, there will be more details! 


February 4, 2010: A private  security guard in West Virginia has been suspended from his job pending an investigation. The security guard worked at a high school. The guard allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old student for no apparent reason.

A police officer from Dyersberg, Tennessee shot and killed a man yesterday. The officer shot the man while he was trying to serve a warrant. The man allegedly charged at the two officers with a knife. The police officer that shot the man says that he was forced to shoot.


February 3, 2010: A man in New York has been charged with fraud and several other charges relating to an unlicensed security training company. They man was allegedly conducting business as if he was licensed. The company was certifying security guards in a variety of different ways. 

508 Late Night Lounge will be open tonight here in Nashville. A special Wednesday night opening is sure to be a good time.

A security guard in Honolulu died of a heart attack after a scuffle with a man that he believed had shoplifted. Investigators are treating the guards death like a homocide.


February 2, 2010: A man and a woman are in custody because of a scene that the two caused at a Waffle House earlier this morning.

A man in the Memphis area was arrested for several charges involving a firearm. The man that used the firearm so recklessly happens to be an operations manager for a security guard company.

The F.B.I. and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department are looking for a man that robbed the Bank of America branch on 16th Avenue South. The robbery took place yesterday at around 2:30 in the afternoon. The robber then fled on foot.

A Molotov Cocktail was likely the cause of a house fire in Nashville last night. Police are looking for suspects.


February 1, 2010: The roads are finally getting a little better in Nashville. I can't believe that we actually got that much snow.

The man that killed two security guards during a bank robbery is seeking to avoid the death penalty. The lawyers for the defendant claim that he did not plan to kill the guards.
