November 29, 2012: Thanks to T.J., Tyran, Paul, and LaToya!
Earlier this week in Nashville a man was arrested and charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing his roommate. According to the suspect the victim tried to rape him. The suspect claims that the man grabbed a hammer and attempted to attack him. The man claims that he disarmed the victim and stabbed him in the fight that took place. Police say that the man is in critical but stable condition. The incident occurred at the Madison Motel on Gallatin Road.

November 28, 2012: A meth-cooking operation in west Nashville was raided by police on Monday. A residence on Indian Creek Road which is just off River Road was raided Monday evening and four people were arrested and charged with a variety of charges related to manufacturing methamphetamine, firearms, and marijuana. Police seized eighteen firearms from the residence, several marijuana plants, 3 grams of finished meth, and several ingredients that are commonly found in meth labs. Police had investigated the homeowner and his associates for several months before Monday's raid.

November 27, 2012: Thanks to LaToya and Tyran! Both LaToya and Tyran went the extra mile this morning. These two security guards not only covered shifts that had to be covered. They also took charge of a situation and handled it extremely well in the absence of their supervisor.

November 26, 2012: Yesterday a teenage girl was shot in a parking lot in Antioch. The 16-year-old victim and a male friend of hers got into a dispute with two men at El Arroyo, a restaurant. One of the suspects fired two shots as they left the restaurant's parking lot. The victim was hit in the thigh. The suspects fled the scene in a blue or green Honda.
Today has been a very busy day at On Guard Security. It has been busy in the office, and it has been busy for the security guards on post.

November 25, 2012: Police in Clarksville discovered $30,000 in cash, marijuana, and a marijuana pipe early this morning during DUI traffic stop. The suspect was found passed out with the engine running in his car at a green light. Officers seized the money and arrested the man on DUI charges and simple possession.
Police in Louisiana are investigating a wreck in which a private security guard was killed. The security guard was on duty at the time of the accident. The guard wrecked in a vehicle that belonged to the security guard company that he worked for. Police believe that the security guard may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
Yesterday in Texas a private security guard shot and killed another security guard. Both security officers worked for the same security guard company. The suspect had been fired by the contract security guard company, but the former guard continued to show up for his normal shift. The suspect's supervisor finally told the suspect that he could not show up there anymore because he had been terminated. When the security officer arrived to replace the suspect, the suspect opened fire and killed the victim. The suspect awaited the arrival of deputies after the shooting. Deputies arrested the suspect.

November 24, 2012: Thanks to T.J., LaToya, and Paul for their excellent work as security guards on Black Friday. Thanks to all the other security guards that worked a post yesterday (especially a retail one).
Last Tuesday in Savannah, Georgia an armored car was robbed by two masked gunmen. The armed guards were attacked and robbed when they were unloading money from the back of the truck. No shots were fired during the robbery, and no one was injured. A very short time later a local bank was robbed. Authorities are not sure whether the two armed robberies are linked.
It was a cold night in Nashville last night!!

November 23, 2012: Earlier this week in Texas a private security guard accidentally shot himself. Police have not released the name of the armed security guard. The armed guard was parked at an intersection when he tried to remove his firearm, and it accidentally discharged. Many people witnessed the security guard accidentally shoot himself.
Scattered rain showers are expected throughout the day in Nashville. Colder temperatures are in the weather forecast for the next few days.
A contract security guard in South Carolina was stabbed yesterday while trying to stop a shoplifter. The incident occurred at a Kmart where the security guard works. The shoplifter cut the security guard on the arm with a knife. Deputies apprehended the suspect soon after the incident. The man is charged with assault and shoplifting.

November 22, 2012: Happy Thanksgiving!!!! I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing Thanksgiving. Thanks to all the security guards that work for On Guard Security. A very special thanks to all of our security guards that have to work a post today instead of enjoying the holiday.
Last night in Florida a private security guard was shot and killed while working at an apartment complex. Police officers found the security guard's body when they responded to a call reporting shots fired. Two security guards were on duty last night at the apartment complex. It is reported that earlier that evening the security guards had called the police to report that they were detaining a man that was wanted on a warrant. Police are investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made yet. The same contract security guard company that the victim worked for had another officer killed in similar circumstances just over a year ago.
A gay police officer in Chicago has been fired for working as a private security guard at two gay nightclubs while on convalescent-duty status with the police department. The officer is suing the city in hopes that he will be reinstated to the force. The officer claims that he has been singled out because he is gay and that police officers have kept their jobs after much more serious infractions.

November 21, 2012: A man from Antioch, Tennessee was charged with especially aggravated kidnapping among other charges for kidnapping a 2-month-old that he believes to be his child. An Amber Alert was issued after the kidnapping. The suspect was more cooperative with law enforcement when he realized that he was a wanted man. The man also had warrants in Davidson County for drug possession, theft of property, and prostitution. The suspect turned over the infant to TBI agents.
A private security guard in India was killed in a fire earlier this week. The security guard was on duty at the building that burned. The security guard was apparently asleep when the fire started. The guard's body has been recovered.

November 20, 2012: Last night in Nashville two men were arrested for allegedly selling ecstasy. The incident occurred at Limelight, a nightclub located on Woodland Street. A private security guard that works in the nightclub told police officers about the suspicious activity around the two men. Police officers found over $1000 and over 100 ecstasy pills.

November 19, 2012: The Metro Nashville Police Department held a gun buyback event yesterday in south Nashville. The event was sponsored by Dollar General. Police gave out $25 gift cards for any firearm turned in with no questions asked. The event took nearly 80 guns off the streets.
Bon Jovi's daughter was found unresponsive by an ambulance crew over the weekend in her dorm room in New York. The police officers that responded to the call found a small amount of heroine and got a search warrant for the dorm room. Marijuana, paraphernalia, and more heroine. Bon Jovi's daughter apparently overdosed on heroine. She is also being charged with criminal charges.

November 17, 2012: A security guard in California was shot at earlier this week. The private security guard was patrolling at an agricultural field when he saw three people . The security guard shined his flashlight at the three people to see what they were doing. One of the three suspects pulled out a handgun and fired at the private security guard. The security officer was not shot or injured. The three subjects fled on foot.

November 16, 2012: An 88-year-old man and an 89-year-old woman were robbed Wednesday evening in Maryville, Tennessee. The couple was robbed by a man that forced himself into their home. The man demanded money from the elderly couple. The couple gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash. The 88-year-old man pulled a shotgun on the suspect at one point. The suspect was able to disarm the old man. The suspect fled the scene. Neither one of the victims were injured.
Earlier this week in Memphis a security guard apprehended a suspect in a fatal shooting. According to reports, the armed security guard was patrolling the apartment complex where he works as private security when he saw the suspect approach a group of four men. The suspect then pulled out a firearm and began shooting at the group. The security guard chased the suspect. Eventually the private security guard caught the suspect and detained him until the police arrived. The suspect is being held without bond and is charged with first degree murder.

November 15, 2012: On Guard Security is looking to hire one unarmed security guard for a post in the Nashville area. The security guard post is part time. A man in Ohio was arrested early Monday morning for public intoxication. The man was arrested after private security guards at a nightclub threw the man out of the club. The man began screaming and cursing at the security guards. Police arrived and quickly locked the man up. The man had been cited by police and released earlier in the night, too.
Earlier this week in a federal courtroom in Nashville a couple from Canon County, Tennessee pleaded guilty to two counts of marijuana production and distribution. Their grow operation was uncovered when the couple sold two ounces of marijuana to a confidential informant. The government got a search warrant for their residence and discovered hundreds of marijuana plants and pounds of processed marijuana. The pair face several years in federal prison.
Police in Kentucky are looking for a man that robbed bank tellers at gunpoint at Citizens First Bank in Franklin, Kentucky. The suspect fled the scene in a tan Honda with Tennessee license plates.

It's another cold evening in Nashville, Tennessee! I know because I had to work an outdoor security guard post tonight after my regular day in the office. I wish I had watched the weather forecast a little more closely before I covered that shift. A jacket and some gloves in addition to my thermals would have been great.

An armed security guard in Australia was shot and killed during a robbery yesterday. The private security guard was working at a hotel when he was ambushed. The security guard was leaving the hotel with a bag of money. The armed guard never even had a chance to pull his weapon. The security guard was shot five times.

Two men in Wisconsin have been arrested and charged with assaulting a private security guard in a bar. The two men also allegedly beat up a patron of the bar.

Earlier this week federal agents arrested three men for robbing two armored cars. Two of the three men are armed security guards that work for Garda. Garda is an international security guard company that is based in Canada.

A man in Clarksville was shot and killed by police officers last night. The man was in a stand-off with police after he threatened to kill himself, his wife, and anyone that tried to interfere. Police in Clarksville shot the man after the man discharged his firearm several times inside his house. The TBI is investigating the incident.
A police officer in Memphis was shot late last week by another police officer. The shooting was an accident. The officers were serving a warrant when a loose dog charged the police officers. One officer fired and the shot hit another officer in the back. The victim was taken to the hospital and was said to be in stable condition. The officer's condition was later downgraded to critical.
Warren County, Kentucky voted unanimously to rescind the right of elected constables to use blue lights on their vehicles.

November 10, 2012: According to police, the triple murder three weeks ago on Maxon Avenue in west Nashville was drug-related. Police say that the family that was murdered was selling drugs. The man that was arrested for the murders has been convicted of burglary and robbery to get money to fund his drug habit in the past.

November 9, 2012: On Guard Security is currently looking for one armed security guard for a full time position in the Nashville area. The armed guard post will work second shift mostly, but first shift and third shift will be required, too. All applicants should already be licensed in Tennessee as an armed security guard. Applicants should also have experience in law enforcement, corrections, the military, or with a contract security guard company.
Police in Nashville are investigating the robbery of Shoney's on Gallatin Pike. The robbery occurred Wednesday. The two men that robbed the Shoney's fled in a white car with black rims. Police recovered the car not long after the robbery. An undisclosed amount of cash was found in the vehicle. Police are still trying to identify the two robbers.

Police in Nashville have arrested a convicted felon for a triple murder that happened in west Nashville about three weeks ago. West precinct police officers executed a search warrant at the suspects home that included the suspect giving a DNA sample. Police say DNA links the suspect to the triple homicide. Police say that the murders were probably drug-related.

November 8, 2012: Sam Worthington, star of the movie Avatar, had an embarrassing incident with a security guard in Atlanta last week. Mr. Worthington behaved disrespectfully to a security guard at a restaurant and pushed the security guard according to witnesses. The security guard eventually pepper-sprayed and handcuffed the actor until police could arrive. Sam was charged with disorderly conduct. Charges were dropped last Monday.
A private security guard in Utah was assaulted earlier this week by a woman with a woman's shoe. Police arrested the woman shortly after. The security guard was attacked in a nightclub where he was working.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will be under a tighter budget next year for their gang initiative. The TBI says that rural areas in Tennessee are now being overrun with gangs and gang activity. The TBI says that the gangs moving to rural areas in Tennessee is the result of a crackdown on gangs in major cities.
Private security guards at a casino in New Mexico helped catch a man that had previously stolen from other patrons at the casino. The security guards detained the man at the casino until police officers could arrive. Police charged the man with larceny.

November 7, 2012: Late last week in Alabama a private armed security guard shot an armed man. The man that was shot had been forced to leave a nightclub earlier in the evening. The man returned with a handgun and began firing. Luckily, an armed security guard was alert and quickly stopped the armed man. The armed guard shot the man. The man was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

Earlier this evening in north Nashville three people were shot at an apartment complex. One of the victims was a child. Fortunately, it is reported that none of the victims have life threatening injuries. Police are investigating the incident and are not releasing too many details at this time.

A licensed security guard has been charged with attempted murder for the Halloween shooting at USC. Four people were wounded in the shooting. Authorities say that another person has also been arrested in connection with the shooting.
A man in Wisconsin has been arrested for DUI thanks to security guards at a nightclub. The security guards held the man until police arrived after the man had wrecked into several cars in the nightclub's parking lot. The man fought several of the club's security guards. The man only stopped his vehicle after a security guard stood in front of his vehicle and refused to move.
Late last week a cab driver in Nashville was shot and killed at the intersection of 10th Avenue North and Garfield St. Police are looking at the possibility that the cab driver was set up to be robbed. It is possible that someone made a call for a cab just to lure the cab driver into a robbery. Police in Nashville are investigating.

Earlier this week in Nashville a routine traffic stop turned into a shootout that left a police officer and a suspect injured. An 18-year-old man was stopped by police and began shooting at the two officers that stopped him. The man was apprehended fairly quickly. Officer Faye Denson was shot in the leg after chasing the suspect. She was treated at a hospital and released. The suspect was also taken to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound.
Last weekend in south Nashville a woman that was shoplifting from Walmart attacked a Walmart employee that attempted to stop her. The lady was seen shoplifting by several employees at the Walmart. The suspect stabbed the man that tried to stop her several times with a screwdriver. The victim was treated at a hospital for several stab wounds to his upper chest. He is expected to recover. The suspect was arrested and charged with several different charges including aggravated assault, attempted aggravated assault, and shoplifting.

Two security guards in New York were stabbed earlier this week when they attempted to apprehend a group of shoplifters. The wounds that the security guards received were not life threatening.

November 5, 2012: Welcome back, Lt. White!!
A woman in Manchester, Tennessee has been charged with nine counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. The charges come from the woman allegedly stealing medication from patients at a nursing home that she where she formerly worked. The woman has been released from jail on bond. The pills that were stolen are believed to have been used by the woman and sold.

An armed security guard in Maryland shot a man late last week. The man that was shot was allegedly attempting to break in to vehicles. The armed guard confronted the man and at some point during the confrontation shot the man in the leg. The security guard then called the police and awaited their arrival. Police and the District Attorney's office are still looking at charges for the armed security guard.
Earlier today in Nashville a man that was driving down Interstate 40 near Elm Hill Pike with two passengers was shot without warning and for no apparent reason. According to the victim and his passengers, a vehicle pulled up beside their vehicle and one or more people began firing. The driver was hit one time and drove himself to the hospital. The victim is expected to make a full recovery. Police are investigating the incident.
A police helicopter crashed in Atlanta last night and killed the two police officers that were in the helicopter. No one on the ground was injured, fortunately. The officers were looking for a 9-year-old boy that is missing.
A domestic dispute between father and son ended with the father being stabbed last night. The incident occurred on Welshwood Drive in south Nashville. Both men were taken to the hospital.
According to other reports, three people were actually shot while in a vehicle travelling on Interstate 40 near Elm Hill Pike. I wrote earlier that only the driver of the vehicle was shot, but according to the other report three people went to the hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds. Only two victims actually received treatment. The third victim left the hospital without treatment to avoid investigators.
Last week in Missouri a man pleaded guilty in federal court to three charges that relate to his role in an armed robbery of a bank and the murder of a private security guard that was working at the bank. The incident happened in 2006. The man shot the security guard more than once with a shotgun. The security guard died of the injuries the next day in the hospital.

November 3, 2012: A security guard at a high school in Florida caught two students with marijuana and one with a gun. The security guard saw two students smoking marijuana in the bathroom of the high school. The security guard confiscated the marijuana from the students. The students began to flee. The security guard chased the two students. During the chase one of the students threw something. The security guard caught one of the students. The student had digital scales, marijuana, and bullets in his backpack. The security guard discovered that the item that was thrown during the chase was a semi-automatic pistol.
Yesterday a man in Nashville was sentenced to 25 years in Federal prison for assaulting police officers with a deadly weapon. The officers that were assaulted were placed under gunpoint by the three robbers. The incident occurred in 2010 at Hyatt Place Hotel in Brentwood, Tennessee. One of the officers shot all three suspects when the suspects began talking about killing them.
Federal authorities have began an investigation into how private security guards that worked at a nuclear weapons plant in Tennessee got access to questions that were on a Department of Energy exam in advance. The contract security guard company was sent the exam questions by email. Private security guards within the security guard company had copies of the questions before the exam.
Earlier this week in Knoxville, Tennessee police officers shot a man in the parking lot of a shopping mall. Police intervened in what appeared to be a domestic situation. A man ended up being shot by one of the police officers before it was all over. There are few details about the incident.
A severe thunderstorm is supposed to come through Nashville early this evening. I hope all private security guards that work for On Guard Security brought their rain gear if they have to be outside at all.
Last night in Hermitage a man was killed as he crossed Old Hickory Blvd. The man was hit by a 2008 GMC truck. No charges have been filed against the driver yet. Police are investigating.
Last night in Clarksville, Tennessee a man was shot and killed at C-Ray's Social Club. A fight between different groups of the club's patrons led to shots being fired. Only one man was hit. Police arrived within three minutes of the shooting, but limited cooperation from witnesses has left many questions unanswered. Police are still investigating.
A certain neighborhood in Seattle has started using uniformed armed security guards to patrol the streets and help clean up the crime. Businesses hope to bring people back to the area after they have changed its reputation. Police in Seattle welcome the armed security guards in the neighborhood and see the new security guards as an ally.
A private security guard in North Dakota helped a local policeman locate and apprehend a man that is suspected of stealing from multiple cars.

November 2, 2012: Thanks to Tyran, Brandon, Al, Steve, and T.J. It's been another hectic Friday at On Guard Security, but we have managed it. I hope Latoya is enjoying her vacation in Costa Rica, because there is a lot of work waiting here.
Police in Nashville are looking for a 25-year-old man that is suspected of armed robbery for an incident that occurred on Brick Church Pike on October 6th. The suspect has a previous conviction for aggravated robbery.
Two men in Indiana were arrested earlier this week for a variety of charges related to scamming a casino. The two men were employed at the casino as private security. The men allegedly set up fake security equipment companies and billed the casino for repair work.
Police in Nashville are still looking for any leads that help identify two men that robbed a man that was withdrawing cash from an ATM. This particular robbery happened on October 11th at the Bank of America on Church Street. One of the two robbers was reported to be armed.
One private security guard has been terminated and two others have been suspended following an incident that occurred in a shopping mall last month in Canada. Video that was taken on a cell phone shows three contract security guards throw a man out of his wheelchair onto the ground and threaten him. The security guards claim that the man had been shoplifting. The contract security guard company that the security guards work for have started an internal investigation.

Private security guards at a Macy's in North Carolina arrested a man yesterday for exposing himself to customers.
Earlier this week the United States joined a lawsuit against a contract security guard company called Triple Canopy. The lawsuit claims that the private security guard company used poorly trained security officers. The lawsuit also claims that the security guard company falsified documents to hide how poorly their armed guards fired their firearms. Triple Canopy was contracted by the U.S. government to provide security at Iraq's second largest base.
It was a cold morning here in Nashville, Tennessee.
Earlier today in Nashville police discovered cocaine, marijuana, and several thousand dollars during a routine traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle has had prior convictions for marijuana and cocaine. Police officers found over 45 grams of cocaine.
